Northern Rivers Rail Ltd (NRRL), t/as Northern Rivers Railway, is working towards extending regular passenger train services from the current, much-loved, world’s first, Byron Solar Train service, to Mullumbimby and Bangalow, and to Lismore and Yelgun. This proposed all-weather service is called the ‘Country to Surf Train’ (CTST) project.
The CTST service will benefit our Northern Rivers communities and the many tourists visiting our region. NRRL is collaborating with other regional train companies, and gaining the support of local organisations, businesses and community members to provide non-road, climate-friendly passenger transport: for employment, healthcare, community services, education, entertainment and recreation.
Our objective is to run safe, comfortable trains, powered by state-of-the-art, renewable energy, greatly reducing transport emissions and helping to reduce cars on our roads.
