Empowering an Ecosystem of Changemakers for a Thriving Future

Seed Northern Rivers (formerly Mullum S.E.E.D.) is a dynamic ecosystem of changemakers, organisations, and community groups dedicated to regenerating the environment and building resilience across the Northern Rivers. For over 15 years, Seed Northern Rivers has acted as a catalyst and backbone organisation—supporting 3+ grassroots initiatives with mentoring, resources, strategic support, and access to vital, shared infrastructure. Learn more about our story here.
Seed Northern Rivers’ theory of change is grounded in the belief that regenerative transformation emerges when local changemakers are resourced, connected, and empowered within a supportive ecosystem. From our base at the Gardens Eco-Hub, we engage community leaders and their initiatives, convene cross-sector collaborations, and activate the skills, infrastructure, and relationships needed to drive systemic, place-based change. By nurturing these interconnections—between people, projects, and landscapes—we strengthen the region’s collective capacity to heal Country, build resilience, and foster a thriving, regenerative Northern Rivers that can inspire communities everywhere.

Testimonials

 What Our Community Says

Hear from the people, partners, and organisations who’ve been supported by Seed Northern Rivers — from grassroots groups to regional collaborators.
"Seed Northern Rivers plays such a foundational role for small organisations in the Northern Rivers. The need for that kind of support comes up all the time when I talk to community resilience hubs and grassroots groups doing disaster preparedness work—it’s often the difference between being able to operate or not."
Bec McNaught

"Since joining in 2021, we’ve received valuable support that has actually been fairly crucial to our growth at Colony Bees. From their DGR auspice enabling key donations to the resources and guidance they provided for our ACNC registration and foundational documents to setup our organisation, SEED has been a consistent ally.
Spencer White

"Seed Northern Rivers unwavering support has been instrumental in the success of the Save Wallum campaign. Their assistance has empowered us to fundraise effectively and sustain our efforts to protect the Wallum ecosystem for future generations."

We’ve seen firsthand how SEED turns investments into measurable change. Their team helped us fund Youth Landcare’s training program—resulting in 80 teens certified in bush regeneration last year. What sets SEED apart is their hyper-local approach; they ensure every dollar reaches the communities best positioned to use it.
