FOUR weeks to help us secure our Creative Community Hub — $7,500 Needed to Complete $21,000 Bond
We are a first-year not-for-profit supporting older people and their carers across the Northern Rivers through community-led creative programs rooted in sustainable arts.
Thanks to incredible community support, we have secured the unexpected scale up of our space and the majority of the bond — long story short, we were on a sublease as a pop up shop to save our wonderful vintage clothing donations from the elements in Maia's garage in The Pocket, Byron Shire.
After a successful pop up shop at 1/18 Acacia Street, the only option to stay was to take the entire space at 18 Acacia Street - scaling up THREE times the size within our first year as a Not For Profit.
This initiative has been fully funded by Maia's personal savings, as well as continuing nursing shifts, all the while building and running the OTT Shop.
We need only $7,500 more to complete the $21,000 bond WITHIN FOUR WEEKS so we can finalise the lease, modify the space to improve accessibility, and scale up our services.
This space is a community space and creative hub for all ages, including support workers looking for a welcoming place to bring their clients.
Why this matters:
- This space is already enabling partnerships, activities and vital supports for older community members.
- Our founder, Maia, has been nursing and managing the not-for-profit from day one to ensure it successfully gets off the ground. She has invested significant time, energy and personal funds, and we are determined to ensure she does not burn out.
- Maia is prepared to sell her personal car to cover the shortfall so we can secure the bond; we hope the community can help so she won’t have to make that sacrifice.
Why we need your help
- As a first-year not-for-profit, bank loans aren’t available to us yet. Without the remaining $7,500, we risk delaying or losing this vital space and the programs we’re currently building.
- Your donation will directly complete the bond and allow us to deliver and grow our aged-care initiatives and community creative programs across the Northern Rivers.
